Four decades of caring for Lake Hopatcong’s dogs and cats

Lake Hopatcong Animal Hospital has looked after companion animals in this community for more than 40 years. We are a woman-owned, family-operated practice, the kind of small, steady clinic where the people examining your pet are the same faces you saw last year, not a rotating cast. We treat dogs and cats only, and that focus is deliberate: it is all we do, and it is all we have done for four decades.

Answers the same visit, not days later

Much of the diagnostic work happens right here under one roof. Our in-house laboratory, digital X-ray, and ultrasound mean we can often work up a sick pet and have answers during the same appointment, instead of sending samples out and waiting. Our on-site pharmacy lets many families leave with the medication already in hand. For dogs and cats that come in feeling unwell, we keep room for same-day sick visits whenever we can.

The veterinarians caring for your pet

Our care is led by three licensed veterinarians with a combined experience that spans most of the modern history of small-animal medicine in New Jersey:

• Jose A. Navarro, D.V.M., a New Jersey veterinary practitioner since 1975, with a focus on general medicine, surgery, and dentistry for dogs and cats.
• Elizabeth Z. Navarro, D.V.M., a New Jersey veterinary practitioner since 1976, with expertise in general veterinary medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
• Shelli Skeels, D.V.M., licensed in both New Jersey and Florida, who owned and operated Montville Animal Hospital for 28 years.
